Anna Cash-Mitchell’s Warp & Warp 2 re-imagine the traditional flat rectangular canvas as sculpture, full of dimension and movement. These playful experiments twist heavy cotton canvas into flowing forms like the draping of a well-cut dress. Combining sewing and patterning techniques to build the structure is a reminder that canvas is fabric with flex and stretch, a warp and weft.

Anna grew up in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies where she earned a BA in Fine/Studio Arts and a Master of Humanities at University of Colorado, Denver. Her education as an artist also included a summer painting intensive in Feltre, Italy.
